Trusted project engineers
Our project engineers will select the correct pump to suit your installation and ensure your pump station is designed to operate in the most efficient and economical way. We are agents for and/or hold direct accounts with the vast majority of the major pump manufacturers, including, Flygt, Grundfos, KSB, ABS, Sulzer, Calpeda, Pedrollo and JS Pumps. Our project engineers consider a wide range of factors, including:
• The type of pump station required e.g. sewage, surface water, stormwater, package, tank, basement
• The maximum flow rate that needs to be pumped
• The distance to be pumped
• The static head of the installation
• The type pipework and its material, e.g. MDPE, PVC, ABS, ductile
• Non return valve (reflux valve), check valve and gate valves, plus penstocks (if required)
• The rising main material and size
They will then select the most appropriate level controls, which include:-
• Floats
• Ultrasonic level controllers from Pulsar, Siemens, Milltronics, Hycontrol
• Probes
• Pressure transducers
They will also select the most appropriate starter type and location for the pump control panel:-
• Direct on line (DOL)
• Star/delta
• Soft start
• Inverter drive
Comprehensive aftercare and support
The control panel for your pump station can be located in a plant room, in an adjacent outbuilding or in a kiosk which can be either GRP or metal to suit the location. Please contact our team for further advice and a no obligation quotation.
Once pump stations are installed, we provide a full range of support services including maintenance, service and repair and have engineers on call 24/7 to attend to any breakdowns.
To minimize the chance of your pump station failing we recommend regular routine maintenance. We can tailor a planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedule to meet your needs and will include a regular inspection of all your equipment to ensure it working safely and efficiently.
We would also recommend a planned clean out and de-sludge of your pump station to prevent the build-up of fat, oil and grease (FOG), rags, silt and other debris, which can cause your pumps to trip or fail prematurely. Please contact us for further advice and a no obligation quotation.
